Roko 20 Academy currently sponsors 65 children from the local community. These are particularly disadvantaged children who live in extreme poverty. Without the support of our sponsors and donors these children would find it difficult to receive a proper education, food or healthcare.
Child Sponsorship costs just £14 per month and includes education, books and stationery, 3 meals a day, transport, basic healthcare and a uniform including a school bag, shoes, underwear and a rain jacket.
There are many ways to support the parents or grandparents of the students at Roko 20.
Buying a goat (£70) or a rabbit (£5) can provide a family with food, milk and even a small income.
Kiondos (handwoven traditional baskets) are made by the elderly grandmothers. You can purchase one by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteers play a vital role at Roko 20 Academy. Over the last few years, we have had many volunteers from all over the world. We are always looking for dedicated, passionate people who share our values and who can contribute to the growth and development of our school.
A Roko 20 volunteer is someone who:
Believes strongly in Roko 20 Academy’s mission and values.
Is a professional willing to share their skills and expertise to support the projects.
Is an advocate for community-based development, empowerment, social justice and peace.
Is hardworking, enthusiastic, positive, open-minded, flexible and co-operative.

The challenge set by Global Giving was to raise over £6,000 from 40 unique donors within 28 days to secure a permanent platform on their website, and guess what WE ACHIEVED THIS! This was a great opportunity for a small charity such as ours to receive step by step guidance, advice and support from the experts on how to fundraise effectively.
