Many elderly grandparents are struggling to raise their orphaned grandchildren with very little means.
To provide them with support we formed an Elderly Ladies Group. All the members are over the age of 70. At weekends they come together at Roko 20 to socialize, have lunch and weave the traditional Kenyan Kiondos (baskets made from sisal and wool). We help them to sell their baskets in the UK and abroad. 10% of the proceeds are put aside into a Health Fund, to pay for health costs when needed.
All proceeds are given directly to the grandmothers less 10% which is kept in a fund by Roko 20. This fund is used to buy planing seeds for the eldely ladies and for a Health Fund used to pay for medical costs when needed.
